Who We Are

Mission: To build personal and professional relationships as we work together on projects to strengthen and grow the Greater Muskegon community.

We are a leadership development organization for people ages 21 to 40. The Jaycees are active citizens committed to creating impact in our local community. The original Jaycees were a group of young men who wanted to advance their careers but didn’t have enough experience to get the jobs they wanted. But without those jobs, they couldn’t get the experience they needed. Their solution? They formed a membership organization that ran professional projects in the community that not only gave them experience but made a difference in their community.

The Greater Muskegon Jaycees continue those efforts today. Over the years, the Jaycees have been instrumental in launching and supporting important community events such as Parties in the Park, bringing the Miss Michigan pageant to Muskegon, keeping the Muskegon County Museum open, Summer Celebration, Snowfest, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and much more.

What We Do

We run programs in three primary areas – business development, individual development, and community involvement. We develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to make informed decisions and take action. Through community service, professional development and building a strong local network, our members become leaders. We strive to create impact in our community every day!
