Who We Are
Mission: To see single parent families encouraged, empowered, equipped and educated.
The Deborah Project, founded by Pastor Doriane Parker-Sims, is a charitable initiative, in association with Kingdom Life Ministries Community Development Corporation (KLMCDC), created to assist single mothers to establish more viable and wholesome households throughout the Greater Grand Rapids & Muskegon area.
The Deborah Project began in 2011 as a reaction to a growing need to support single parent families.
What We Do
The Deborah Project supports single-parent families in two phases. Phase I provides free, instructional outreach to single mothers, offering parenting skills, support networks, and resources like food, childcare, and counseling to counter poverty, health issues, and abuse. Phase II, The Deborah House, launched in 2015, offers safe housing for single or pregnant mothers and their children. In a supportive Christian environment, residents receive mentoring, counseling, and education, creating a healing space. Mothers can stay up to one year, with resources to promote personal and family success.

- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be currently pregnant or have one child under the age of 5
