Get Involved: Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities with United Way of the Lakeshore

 

Are you looking for ways to give back to our Lakeshore community? The Volunteer Center at United Way of the Lakeshore has several upcoming volunteer opportunities where you can make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Check out the upcoming needs below and join us in making a difference!

Volunteer Opportunity: Microforest Tree Planting

Volunteer Opportunity: Oceana County Mobile Food Pantry - Hart

Volunteer Opportunity: Letter Carriers Food Drive

  • Date/Time: Saturday, May 11 with various opportunities & shifts from 10 AM - 4 PM
  • Location: Collection & Transport - Downtown Muskegon Post Office at 800 1st Muskegon, 49440 | Sorting - Salvation Army at 1221 Shonat St. Muskegon, 49442
  • Description: On Saturday, May 11, letter carriers across the country will once again collect donations of non-perishable food items to fill the shelves of local food pantries. Volunteers are needed to help sort donations, assist letter carriers with food collection, and help transport food donations from the post office to the Salvation Army for sorting.

Volunteer Opportunity: Ride United

  • Date/Time: Saturday, May 18 with various shifts throughout the day
  • Location: Heritage Landing at 1050 Seventh St. Muskegon, 49441
  • Description: Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the success of Ride United, United Way of the Lakeshore's annual ride and community event along the Lakeshore. Volunteers help keep the event organized, safe, and fun for participants and spectators alike! There are opportunities to lend your support leading up to the ride, as well as various roles on ride day on Saturday, May 18th.
