Help us select our nominees for the 2027–2028 Rotary Youth Exchange program!
During the afternoon, volunteers will work in pairs or small groups to interview prospective Youth Exchange students and their parents. These conversations help us learn more about each student's motivation, maturity, adaptability, family support, and readiness to spend an academic year living and studying abroad.
What You'll Do
From approximately 1:00–4:00 PM, volunteers will:
- Participate in approximately 20-minute interview sessions with students and their parents.
- Work alongside other Rotarians and Youth Exchange volunteers in pairs or small interview teams.
- Use provided interview questions and evaluation guidance to help ensure a consistent process for every applicant.
- Take notes and evaluate each candidate based on their responses, preparedness, maturity, and overall readiness for Youth Exchange.
From approximately 4:00–5:00 PM, interview volunteers will join the Youth Exchange team for deliberations. Together, we'll review what we learned throughout the day and help determine which students we will nominate to move forward as Rotary Youth Exchange candidates.
Volunteers will receive guidance and training ahead of Interview Day, so you do not need previous interviewing or Youth Exchange experience to participate.
Your perspective matters! Selecting a Youth Exchange student is about more than finding someone who wants to travel. We're looking for young people who are ready to embrace another culture, navigate challenges, build relationships, and serve as ambassadors for Rotary and our community.
