Earth Day Volunteer Event at McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm
Date: Tuesday, April 22, 2025
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm, 175 E. Larch Ave. Muskegon, MI
Join United Way of the Lakeshore and McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm for a hands-on Earth Day celebration that gives back to both our community and our planet! Volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to help us beautify and prepare the farm for the growing season ahead.
Volunteers will work in small breakout groups on a variety of projects, including:
-
Farm share packing
-
Weeding and trash removal
-
Raking and yard maintenance
-
Greenhouse clean-up
-
Painting and refresh projects
-
And more!
No experience is necessary—we’ll provide gloves and tools, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, workplace teams, and community groups to roll up their sleeves and make a meaningful impact.
Why Volunteer on Earth Day?
Earth Day is a global call to action to protect and nurture the environment we all share. By volunteering locally, you help build a healthier, more sustainable Muskegon while supporting food security, community development, and green spaces right in our own backyard. Your time and effort contribute to a better world—starting right here at home.
Pre-registration is required to participate.
We hope you’ll join us for this energizing afternoon of service and connection!
Please note: Youth volunteers under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult (parent/guardian, school staff member, etc.).
