Join Us for the 25th Annual Day of Caring Event:
This day hundreds of volunteers from several companies, community organizations, and neighborhoods come together for a day of service to improve our communities. This year we are calling it OPERATION UNITED because we are focusing on veteran homes and veteran programs.
Overview
Join us in working on the Veterans Memorial Park! Help us clear debris, clean markers, and tidy up the park.
Several factors, including record high water levels, have prevented crews from finishing the upgrades, which started in May 2017. High water from the Muskegon River has made it difficult to plant new flora, which is where our volunteers come in!
Help the community work around the park and prep for when the water levels drop so more upgrades can be completed!
What Volunteers Will Be Doing:
Volunteers will be participating in work that is caused by natural events:
- Clearing the land that has been covering the Veteran's plaques with an edger
- Clearing debris from people throwing litter out of their cars
- Tending to the memorial gardens
