Park Clean Up

Volunteers (Of All Ages) Needed To Help With the Clean Up & New Playground Installation of 8th Street Park!

The 8th Street Park revitalization is a huge project of community collaborators led by G.U.N.S. (Gaining Unity Through Non-Violent Solutions) & the Muskegon Heights Police Department. Efforts to restore the park and implement a new safe playground structure will begin happening in the month of April!

DATES:

Prework: April 4th - 8th

Beginning basic clean-up measures for when volunteers are coming in a large group for the park installation. If you are interested in helping, please contact G.U.N.S at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316871025173693

Volunteer Day: April 22nd | 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

All hands on deck! Volunteers will be cleaning, clearing, and fixing the surrounding park areas along with building/installing the new playground equipment. There are a lot of things to be done! They are also looking to install soccer goals/fix the soccer fields, and so much more! Volunteers should come in comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.

All ages are welcome to join us for this event. This day will however be in place of our Youth Day of Caring. A day where students are urged to come together across school districts to work on a service project together! This is a perfect opportunity for students who need National Honor Society Hours, Required School Hours, or for students who would like to try something new!

Park Location:

8th Street Park stretches from the corner of Park St. & Barney to 8th St & W. Hovey. It forms a trinagle shape park roughly 2 blocks from Muskegon Heights High School.
