Newaygo County Prevention of Child Abuse

Mission: To strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.

The Center for Hope and Healing in White Cloud, MI, serves as a safe and supportive space for children and families affected by abuse and neglect. A collaboration between the Newaygo County Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NCPCAN) and Open Arms Child Advocacy Center (OACAC), the center provides a range of services, including forensic interviews, education on children’s rights, and art therapy, among others.

We offer various programs and services, including:

• Evergreen Children’s Advocacy Center: Coordinates a response to child maltreatment allegations
• Summer Magic: Safe and engaging activities for kids all summer!
• Kids Have Rights: We teach K-4th grade kids about keeping their bodies safe.
• Safe Sleep Education: Education for families on infant safe sleep.
• Little Bear Care Closet: Supports families with essential needs.
• Car Seat Safety: Education for families on car seat safety for kids.
• We are H.E.R.E.: Helping Every Real Expression of need.

• Hope Not Handcuffs: Hope for people struggling with substance use disorder
