Taking Back Muskegon

Mission: To provide a safe haven for youth by fostering academic growth, developing social and leadership skills, and inspiring creativity through entertainment and the arts.

Taking Back Muskegon Inc. is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and transforming adversity into opportunities for growth. We emphasize the acceptance and celebration of individuality as a cornerstone for success.

Founded in 2019, our work is rooted in community-driven change, with a focus on youth engagement, leadership development, and holistic support. Through philanthropy and innovative programs like scouting packs, troops, and units, we strive to uplift Muskegon and inspire a brighter future for all.

Taking Back Muskegon promotes positive change and community empowerment through a variety of events, programs, and initiatives.

Our efforts include:

• Hosting engaging activities like family game nights, charity events, and summer programs to foster a sense of belonging and purpose.
• Providing hands-on support for youth, including academic enrichment, leadership development, and safe spaces for growth.
• Partnering with community leaders and organizations to address pressing challenges such as violence prevention and youth empowerment.

From summer programs at East Park Manor to events like the Roll Bounce Skate Marathon, we aim to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where Muskegon can thrive as one united community. Together, we’re changing the tone of Muskegon—building hope, strength, and resilience one step at a time.
