Goodwill Industries of West Michigan (GIWM) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). A 2009 National Family Strengthening Award Winner sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Goodwill Industries of West Michigan offers a whole-family approach of mission service delivery. We operate 16 retail store and donation centers within its West Michigan territory. Goodwill store revenues are critical to funding Goodwill’s mission-based employment and job training programs.

GIWM is a separate and autonomous Goodwill member organization serving Muskegon, Newaygo, Lake, Oceana, Mason, and Manistee counties, as well as portions of Kent, Ottawa, Osceola, Mecosta, Montcalm, and Allegan counties.

In addition to our retail stores, GIWM also operates a compilation of successful B2B (business-to-business) ventures that advance Goodwill’s social mission through entrepreneurial, earned-income strategies. These viable business lines generate sustainable revenue while also providing real work and training opportunities, and contributing to the economic development of West Michigan. GIWM’s B2B services include Industrial Services, Janitorial Services, GoodTemps, and Workforce Development Center.

Goodwill Industries of West Michigan (GIWM) helps people train for, find, and keep good jobs — providing hope, pride, and self sufficiency for people with barriers to employment. Goodwill offers a broad range of employment programs and services to fulfill a diverse set of community needs.

Some people find their way to Goodwill due to limited skills or work history, some have physical or developmental disabilities, while others are referred through welfare or community correction systems. Goodwill helps people earn a paycheck while they’re preparing or training for permanent jobs by placing them in temporary jobs or in jobs at Goodwill. Goodwill also works in collaboration with other businesses and community organizations to create opportunities and assistance for people who need help finding a job.
