Who We Are

Mission: To provide free books to anyone in need .Annually, we give away more than 50,000 books to people from across Muskegon and West Michigan.

Embrace Books started in 2015 with a dream to have books be accessible to our whole community. With about two thousand books and one little room, we launched and we haven’t looked back since. Pre-COVID, we served more than 300 people a month from around West Michigan, giving away thousands of books to families, schools, churches, and community organizations. Our current space allows us to have around 15,000 books on the shelves at all times – just waiting for the right home.

We believe that reading is vital to developing ourselves as members of the community, critical thinking skills, and equipping ourselves with the tools to help us succeed in life.

What We Do

Annually, we give away more than 50,000 books to people from across Muskegon and West Michigan.

Families can pick up books for their young kids and their elderly parents. We help teachers stock their classroom shelves, work with reading/literacy programs, and give books to organizations across West Michigan to help strengthen our community. Senior Centers and Communities can refresh their shelves to the delight of their residents, and we attend community events to spread some book love even further.

Little Free Library stewards can take advantage of our restock bins! We can also provide curated collections of books in a reusable tote upon request. Refill your library, return the empty tote, and take a new full one!
