Get Connected and Give Back this Holiday Season

Volunteering during the holiday season holds special significance as it embodies the spirit of giving and compassion. The holidays are a time when many individuals and families may face increased challenges, and by volunteering, we have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on those in need. It fosters a sense of community and solidarity, emphasizing the values of empathy and kindness. Holiday volunteering not only addresses immediate needs but also reinforces the idea that the true joy of the season lies in selfless acts of service and goodwill. Here are some examples of volunteer opportunities you can participate along the Lakeshore this holiday season:

  • Adopt A Working Family - West Michigan United Labor and United Way have partnered to offer a holiday program serving Lakeshore working families in need of a holiday blessing. Learn more about the program and consider adopting a local family at Adopt A Family For Christmas!.
  • Arbor Circle - Community members can support Arbor Circle's foster family holiday party by joining their holiday giving program at Resource Sharing: Holiday Giving Program at Arbor Circle.
  • Every Woman's Place - Assist Every Woman's Place with their Christmas Shoppe for Residential Survivors during December by organizing, decorating, wrapping gifts, or helping guests shop. There are a variety of opportunities available, and you can sign up by visiting Every Woman's Place: Christmas Shoppe.
  • Mission for Area People (MAP) - MAP provides assistance and resources to our underserved population in Muskegon County, and you can help them serve our community this holiday season by filling their food pantry, volunteering, or helping with their Teen Town Christmas program.   • Mom Mentor Muskegon - This holiday season, consider lending your support to a new mom in need. Mom's Mentoring Muskegon Moms help navigate pregnant women and new moms through community resources and provide needed support. Visit org to learn more.
