Set Up & Site Build Crew:

Join us for one of West Michigan's most anticipated summer events, Burning Foot Beer Festival! This unique festival will take place at Heritage Landing with a spectacular view of Muskegon Lake, bringing together craft beer enthusiasts, live music, food vendors, and artists for an unforgettable experience.

Volunteers play a vital role in making this event a success. This role reports to Site Build and will include tasks such as:

  • unload equipment and gear at the festival site (Tuesday shift)
  • set up Sandbox/VIP area
  • build brewer's hospitality
  • hang banners and signage
  • other tasks as assigned
  • Please note - this shift does require volunteers to walk, lift, bend, or stand for periods for time.

Specific tasks and role may vary based on the needs of the event.

Date & Available Shift Times:

Date: Tuesday, August 25, 2026 - Saturday, August 29, 2026

Shift Times: August 25 - 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (primarily unload and prep)

                      August 27 & 28 - 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM | 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

                      August 29 - 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Location: Heritage Landing; check in at the volunteer tent. All volunteers must check in at the volunteer tent before starting your shift to sign your volunteer waiver and wristband. More details on where to check in will be emailed to you prior to the event date.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Must be 21+. You will need to show your ID when checking in to volunteer.
  • Friendly, reliable, and comfortable interacting with the public.
  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods outdoors in varying weather conditions. For inquiries on accommodations, please email volunteer@burningfoot.beer.
  • Follow all event guidelines and instructions from team leads.
  • Some roles may require lifting or bending.

Additional Notes & FAQs:

  • You're welcome to sign up as a duo, team, group, etc., but each individual volunteer must provide their name, email address (unique to them - emails cannot be shared), and t-shirt size to volunteer.
  • Parking and check-in details will be shared via email closer to the festival date.
  • Please arrive on time for your assigned shift and check in with the volunteer coordinator upon arrival.
  • All volunteers must be 21 or older to volunteer on the day of the festival. An ID will be required upon check-in.
  • T-shirts will be available for pick up starting the Thursday evening before the festival at volunteer orientation. Volunteer orientation and t-shirt pick up will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Unruly Brewing Company (located at 360 W. Western Ave. in Downtown Muskegon). You will be able to pick up your t-shirt and hear important volunteer information on this night. T-shirt pick up and check in is available from 5-6 PM, with training starting at 6PM. T-shirt pick up will also be available after the training concludes.
