A volunteer SHIP (formerly known as MMAP) counselor meets with Medicare recipients who need help sorting through complex insurance and prescription changes each year.
Once a volunteer finishes the online modules and attends a three-day training, they become a certified SHIP counselor. To maintain a SHIP counselor status, a volunteer must commit to 65 hours a year. New three-day trainings are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Counselors are trained, certified, and supported.
You can work one day a week or more.
