Happy 2-1-1 Day!
On February 11th, United Way of the Lakeshore will be celebrating 2-1-1 day by going out with volunteer groups into the community and hanging 2-1-1 door knob hangers in our community. With the cold conditions, and a harsh winter it is important to spread awareness of 2-1-1 and their service. We also want to celebrate the 2-1-1 volunteers and staff.
Volunteer Opportunities:
We are looking for leaders and volunteers to organize and go out on February 11th to talk about 2-1-1 in the following communities:
- Muskegon
- Muskegon Heights
- Muskegon Charter Township
- Fruitport
- Montague
- Holton
- Ravenna
- Egelston Township
- Norton Shores
- Whitehall
If you would like to lead a group, or be connected to a group sign up today! Leave a note to us when you register and we will follow up with you to connect you to resources!
Toolkit:
United Way of the Lakeshore and community partners will be providing the door hangers for you to hang. We will make sure that you have all the information you need about 2-1-1 as well in case you are asked any questions. You can pick up the door hangers at 31 E. Clay Ave, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
Social Media:
Make sure you let us know you're attending on social media too! Go the the United Way of the Lakeshore's facebook event page for 2-1-1 day to find awesome graphics and statistics.
Times:
If you are an organizer, you set your own time to go out and volunteer! Just make sure you let us know so we can direct other volunteers in your community to you. Or go solo and visit only a few blocks near by! Just remember that we want our volunteers to be safe, consider having a buddy with you and to only volunteer in the day light hours.
